WP 2. Comparative study of the performance of energy crops.

12 annual energy crops (triticale and other cereals and mixtures with legumes like vetch, trifolium, peas and beans for animal feeding, sunflower, soy bean, sorghum, kenaf ) will be studied in plot experiments under two tillage systems. Two experiments will be carried out one in Thessaly (UTH) and one in  Sterea Hellada (CRES). Quality characteristics of the produce will be analyzed in the laboratories of CRES. Biomass will be analysed for its suitability to different transformation to energy methods. Calorific value, stochiometric analysis and proximity analysis will be carried our for the biomass produced.
